During your eye examination at Varley Optometry, your eye doctor will check your ocular health for things such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration or other optical disorders along with your vision. Eye drops may also be used to dilate (enlarge) your pupils, allowing us to view the inside of your eyes properly.
At Varley Optometry, our comprehensive eye examinations typically take between 30-45 minutes.
We recommend that everyone receive an eye examination at least every 2 years. Many eye conditions do not have symptoms until they have advanced.
Many eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and even macular degeneration have little to no symptoms until the condition has progressed, routine eye examinations allow your eye doctor to monitor your optical health, diagnose issues early and create a treatment plan before your problem becomes more severe.
At Varley Optometry, we recommend that children receive their first eye examination by age one. Following that, we recommend routine eye examinations every year.
